Thrilled with my new boards (dark red/grey/royal blue). I now have an option for every conceivable playing environment. If I’m going someplace “sloppy” like a coffeehouse or restaurant, I take my stainproof silicon boards. For safer club and home play, the Flex Pads perform perfectly—flat, durable, and very stylish.

Debating about picking up the green Flex Pad just to round things out. At long last, I can lose a game in almost any setting! ;-)

PS: Also very pleased that ChessHouse offers economy shipping. I can’t tell you how many times I chose not to buy from places like House of Staunton because their shipping cost almost as much (or more) as the item I wanted to buy. Bravo!

The quick delivery of the set allowed me to take it on our Holiday vacation. The flex board traveled easily. The pieces are handsomely weighted for play. We enjoyed celebrating the 4th weekend with the USA 250 set as an historic part of our time. BTW, I won with a knight/bishop combination ;-)

I made a fanciful porcelain chess set for my granddaughter (see below). This board, excellent for many purposes, is just the thing for this one - it's not slippery, so the somewhat fragile pieces don't easily slide into each other, but not too grippy for ease of movement, and the soft surface is also protective. It's a great size for a tournament set (also a good size for kids). It washes really well. It flops back into smooth shape even after being just sloppily folded, and it lays very flat, no curling. Best of all is ease of storage. Love it.

I got the moccasin & grey flexpad boards, and they are of superior quality compared to other mousepads, and i own quite a few of them.
The grey is really great with black ebony pieces on; the contrast is pleasing to the eye. See pic of the grey board with a 3.7" boxwood/ebonized set on it.
The moccasin board, is a bit on the light side with the brownish squares. See pic with a 3.75" golden rosewood set. The White pieces are almost the same color as the dark squares! But of course, the choice of color was mine; the solution? > i'll buy another saddle brown flexpad !

I have black and white inspiration pieces and they look really good on the slate blue board. I had gotten an olive green flex board before and just didn't really like the color pairing. Slate blue looks really great though. The thumbnail image when selecting the color really doesn't look anything like it does in person. I think my pictures do a good job of showing the real color of the board and how the inspiration pieces look on it.

I was looking for a portable chess board that I could carry in a small bag. This mat exceeded my expectations, by far. It's a full-sized club board with a mildly textured surface that feels good to the touch, can be rolled up, folded, and always unravels to lie flat without any creases or folds. It adheres firmly and surprisingly looks excellent on my burred oak tabletop at home, better even than my old wooden veneer board, which it has now replaced. You would be hard pressed to find a better buy.

We wanted a larger board for my kids hangout room, but there's not much space to store things. I tried the vinyl applique ones elsewhere but it was peeling and rolling within a week.
I received this and put it to the test. I thought there was no way I could find and store it, then lay it flat again, but I was wrong. I lays flat every time and the kids love it.
There's lots of colors to choose from for any preference or decor considerations.

I highly recommend!

I would only wish that the pieces would slide more easily on the board like the vinyl ones…
But I still prefer this one over the vinyl, because it lays flat no matter what

I have an expensive 21” wooden board that I want to keep in pristine condition so I put this flex pad board on top of it. It looks great and lies flat. I know that’s not the way this pad is normally used but for me it is ideal!

I’ve been on a quest for a while now. In my opinion all chess boards can be described as luxurious, classic, boring, or “hard to look at”.

I really wanted a beautiful chess mat, I could play on at the park with friends therefore inexpensive and functional. But I also wanted it to be beautiful, fun, and unique. Finally, I just decided I’d try to design my own.

I came up with a rough design. Paul at Chess House sat with me and helped bring my ideas to fruition. Really spent the time to make sure I’d get a product I was happy with.

Completely blown away by the end product. Definitely completely unique and beautiful, while still being perfectly functional for a day of chess at the park of cafe. Certainly pushes the line as much as possible, which is exactly what I wanted. Couldn’t be happier.

Definitely recommend. And I will certainly be back for more custom boards.

(Also the pieces I got are pretty dope too)
