About The Starter Wooden Chess Set and Box Combo
The mahogany wood chessboard is smoothly finished and offers coordinates that help in recording games on chess notation books or replaying and reviewing your own games or those of famous players.
Staunton style chess pieces come nestled in a dark wood box with a clasp closure. The pieces are felted with green felt to prevent scratching a board surface.

My wife and I are enjoying re-learning a game we loved as children . This is the perfect chess set for us to use together and to teach the game we love to our grandchildren. Best feature - you don’t need to plug it in and it doesn’t require batteries.
Bought this for my son's 5th (wooden)wedding anniversary. Arrived quickly and was well packaged. It's a beautiful, well made set. My son and daughter-in-law love it .
It has not been open yet, birthday is the end of Dec, still have to wait a few more days.
It was a gift and it hadn’t been opened yet.
I could have bought a cheap starter set at big retailers, but I wanted something nice and something that will be around for a long time. This set not only meets my criteria, but exceeds my expectations. Well made and big enough that anyone can play without fumbling small, plastic pieces on a small board.
Great set for the price. Everything is just as advertised.
The board is the stand out here. Nice finish. The chess pieces are good enough for the cost. And the board will look good with more expensive pieces anytime you want to upgrade. All and all I’m a happy camper
I just wish the delivery was a little bit faster other then that great company
are the pieces weighted?
Robert, thanks for checking in! These pieces are not weighted. Can I help you with anything else?
