About The The Sherlock Holmes Chess Pieces - SAC Hand Decorated

Sherlock Holmes was created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes is featured as the King and his opponents are lead by his arch enemy Professor Moriarty, with the fearsome Hound of the Baskervilles depicting the Knight. Sherlock is accompanied on his adventures by his faithful companion Doctor Watson, while the rest of the set features other leading characters from the famous stories including Mrs. Hudson, Inspector Lestrade, Irene Adler and Colonel Moran. These carefully designed pieces are based on the original drawings that appeared in the Strand Magazine to accompany the Sherlock Holmes Stories.

These chessmen are made out of Polyresin, which is a crushed stone composite. It has the look and feel of stone, but the durability of a plastic. It is truly the best of both worlds.

Absolutely gorgeous chess set

I purchased this chess set about 25 years ago. The pieces are solid and well sculpted and very well painted. The accompanying pictures were taken yesterday, showing how well these pieces have held up over the years.

If you are looking for a nice out of the ordinary chess set and are a fan of Sherlock Holmes, you cannot find a better set of pieces!

Amazing set! Great craftsmanship! As a fan of the character, it is a must have.

I bought this set about (20) years ago on a trip to Napa valley with friends. I don't have a booklet or
other documentation to tell me who each piece is and their position on the board. Can you help me?
Perhaps point me to somewhere on the internet that describes the pieces. It is a beautiful set that I plan
