Elegant appearance and real wood figures
Based on the already successful Genius Pro 2024 edition, the Wood Edition of the popular ChessGenius Pro chess computer offers high-quality, hand-crafted real wood pieces. With the elegant front panel and the chessboard in wood decor, the device has a more refined look. The pieces offer a pleasant playing experience with the black piece felt and, thanks to the embedded magnets, prevent them from falling over when playing, which is particularly advantageous when on the move.
Versatile chess features
With an almost unlimited number of difficulty levels, the ChessGenius Pro offers the perfect challenge for players of all levels.
The optimized, easy game levels allow beginners to experience success quickly. Particularly strong players can look forward to tournament levels with up to 2,200 ELO. A level with freely adjustable times, number of moves and time increment is available for maximum freedom.
The chess computer can save and reload up to 12 games, offers alternative computer moves, different playing styles and three options for opening books.
AI learning functions
The ChessGenius Pro can give up games or offer draws. The optional chess trainer warns of bad moves, offers to take them back and makes suggestions for better moves. This helps amateur players to learn new tactics and strategies.
The help button shows possible moves during the game - either for all pieces or just for the selected piece. Even the names of the openings played are shown on the display if desired, making it easier to learn the different variations.
Convenient operation
The 20x20 cm playing field with MILLENNIUM HighSensity pressure sensor technology ensures great fun. The high-contrast color display allows quick access to all functions.
The PLAY button is used to easily start new games: with white, with black, in 2-player mode or from a specific position. The menu items are available in 14 different languages and have help texts to ensure simple operation without having to study the manual.
Flexible and mobile
The ChessGenius Pro works with batteries, NiMH rechargeable batteries or the optional mains adapter (item MIL811). It recognizes phases of non-use and automatically switches to power-saving mode.
Thanks to the magnetic pieces and the cotton piece bag, the chess computer is ideal for traveling. The main switch on the back of the device allows the power supply to be completely disconnected so that the device can be easily transported.

I have both versions and the wooden.
version is a nice upgrade. I Reily like the wood peices and the computer has alot of options. Chess house was very nice and answered all my questions. I've been buying my stuff from them for 10 years.
This is a good computer chess set. It plays well, very well in fact, and it moves quickly even at the higher levels. As a chess computer it does everything I wanted.
My only complaint is the size. I own several older chess computers, and I miss the days when they were built with realistic boards and normal-sized pieces. The board and pieces on this one feel small by comparison. Today, if you want a full-size board, you have to pay a fortune for it.
I hope manufacturers go back to their roots, like the old Fidelity machines, and make boards and pieces that are a good, usable size. Bring that back and pair it with an engine like this one, and it would be perfect.
First computer I have had in almost 20 years. Plays much more like people of about 1800 to about 2200 than previous computers I have owned. It requires a fairly difficult knowledge of playing, but it is worth. Price is excellent for a computer. It is not for a grand master as not strong enough. It is perfect for up to a master about 2200. Wonderful price.
Delivered to Ireland with time to spare for Christmas despite doing a tour of FedEx in Memphis. I've played a few games on it and had my rear end handed to me.

I bought my King Performance from Chess House last year and it is my favorite dedicated chess computer. This year I bought the Chess Genius Pro to use as my travel computer because of the size and it is a great small computer with many options. Thanks to the Chess House Team for the very secure packing and great service.
Lovely chess set and board, but I have found that the pieces have to be pressed very hard into the board before being able to make a move. Bearing in mind that this is a travelling set also, I’d like to see a slightly larger playing surface as the pieces are a bit too close together when playing. Overall though, the price is excellent, and I would recommend it to professional as well as up and coming chess students.
Great looking chess set. Good size and pieces nicely wooden. Packaged very well and all safe and sound when it arrived in New Zealand. The only thing below par is my playing ability! But looking forward to improving with this awesome set. Very happy with purchase.

I have other smart chessboards, and this one is the smallest and least sophisticated. But as a travel set I think it is quite nice. It is a little small for my use because of vision and fine motor challenges, so I have placed it in the hands of a family member who has lunchtime games with co-workers, and will borrow it back when I want it for travel. I'm not thrilled with the pressure sensitive operation, but i think I am spoiled by my fancier sets that are able to track the individual pieces whenever they are moved. That probably isn't practical for such a small board. I would buy this set again.
Shipment was fast. Wrapped securely. Like the layout and size of the board. Quality is evident. Look forward to playing games. Still familiarizing myself with controls. Will want to do a review later.
I have the Genius Pro (Non-wood) version and have really enjoyed using it. With the arrival of rthe wood version I just had to have it! Upon arrival I was impressed wth the wood trim and definitely the wooden pieces. I look forward to many games.
My first impression of this set was its beauty. I have always thought that chess boards and pieces should be wood and the wooden pieces and wood accents are beautiful. But, function is the real purpose and this set exceeded my expectations. I like to play against stronger opponents since my chess ego is rather small. I have not yet defeated the best of the settings but I think I scared it a couple of times. In all, I am very pleased with this set, both esthetically and in its play.
Wooden pieces, another improvement could be the absence of board co-ordinates.

This board is great. I’ve had no issues with it. I have not won a game on it yet but I love playing chess. It’s easy to transport so I can take it anywhere. I highly recommend it.
Completely pleasant experience.
1. The chess set itself is wonderful. It is perfect for my grandson.
2. FedEx was slightly delayed and Paul was totally on it. FedEx got their act together but Paul’s immediate attention gave me complete confidence he would take remedial action if there was any problem.
3. Order was shipped very quickly. I think I ordered it on Friday evening and it was shipped Sunday, if I remember correctly.
Very pleased I ordered from Chess House. They clearly take pride in their business.
